Affair Therapy for the One Who Strayed
Infidelity is Complex and Nuanced
An affair can make you feel alive in a way you haven’t felt in years, but it may also bring up intensely negative feelings and have profound consequences.
You may be contemplating questions like:
“How can I live with myself and this guilt”?
“How do I tell my partner/spouse?”
“Can I save my relationship?”
“How do I communicate that I no longer want to be together?”
“How is this going to affect my children?”
Infidelity and betrayals can be a catalyst for profound personal growth and deeper self-awareness.
Together, we will explore the nuances of what led you down this path so you can better understand yourself, heal, move past guilt and shame, and find a path forward that brings you peace.

FAQs About Plano Affair Counseling
Why do you focus on the one who strayed?
Unlike most therapists who work with the trauma of betrayal or to help the couple rebuild their relationship, I prefer to work with the one who strayed because their stories and situations are often overlooked.
People are incredibly complex, and what seems simple is often more nuanced when you take a closer look. I really enjoy exploring the richness of the human experience and helping through challenging times when decisions have significant consequences.
I don't want to blow up my life. Is this confidential?
Yes, therapy is confidential. There are some exceptions to confidentiality if you:
- Pose a danger to yourself or others.
- Have potentially abused children, the elderly, or the disabled.
- File a lawsuit against us.
- Have a therapist who is under supervision the therapist will share case details with their supervisor).
* See intake forms for full informed consent.

Let’s work together towards your future.
I love my partner and I have a great life. Why am I risking everything with this affair?
This is such a common scenario. Some affairs are due to something missing in the primary relationship, but many times, affairs happen in the context of a happy and healthy relationship. In these cases, the affair may be about:
- Self-discovery.
- Revisiting a path not taken.
- Who you are in the arms of another.
- Feeling seen and validated.
- Novelty and adventure.
- An unknown future that you can create.
- And more.
Therapy can help you explore nuances behind your affair, unmet needs, the newly discovered parts of yourself, and, if you want to save your relationship, how to bring the aliveness you feel back into your relationship. Really, there’s so much we can do in therapy. Let’s get started!
